Bespoke website for Blue Destination
A quality mark only works if everyone can see who holds it. For the Chamber of Commerce on Bonaire we built a platform where businesses apply for certification and, once approved, automatically appear on the site — without anyone having to add them manually.

The client's question
One quality mark, zero manual work.
On Bonaire many organisations work on sustainability: nature conservation groups, dive schools, hotels, entrepreneurs. The problem was not a lack of initiative but fragmentation. All these parties were doing good work, but nobody had an overview and visitors could not see who actually met the island's sustainability standard. Blue Destination was to become that overview, with a quality mark that businesses can apply for and that is awarded after assessment. The Chamber of Commerce needed a platform that could handle the entire journey — from application to publication — without having to manually add every approved participant to the website.
Our technical approach
Our solution
We built the site in WordPress with Elementor, with a custom content model for participating businesses underneath. A business applies via a form on the site. That application goes to Blue Destination, which carries out the assessment. Once the business is approved, it enters the database and automatically appears in the directory on the website. Nobody needs to create a page or update a list. The same database feeds the blog section, so articles are automatically linked to the businesses they cover. The site is multilingual in English, Dutch and Papiamento, reaching both international visitors and the local community on Bonaire.
